Triggs Mens Inner Club

To My Fellow Members,

Happy New Year! I hope this letter finds you and yours in what’s most important, your health. Welcome to the 2010 golf season.

On March 18th at 6:30pm, we are having a “Welcoming a New Member Night” hosted by our Membership Committee, Jack Capobianco and Danny Ford. Any member sponsoring a new member must be present.

Membership Incentive

Last year, a membership incentive of $25.00 per new member sponsored remains in effect for the 2010 season. But after talking with fellow members, former President, Jim Buckner and the Board of Governors, we decided to make one change to the current incentive package. This year, there is no limit to how many new members that can be credited to one single member.

To receive the incentive after new member meeting, the member at any time during season must fill out a sponsoring application and give to any of the following names only – President, Gino DiCarlo, or your Membership Committee co-chairman either Jack Capobianco or Danny Ford, for approval.

Web-site Proposal

Secretary, Rick Bernard, had Patrick Malone of Greene, Rhode Island, write a proposal to redesign and host a Triggs Inner Club website for $200.00 for the year 2010 and change Domain name to,

www.triggsmensinnerclub.com

which was the best name available. The Board approved the $200.00 expenditure for 2010. The domain name fee for about $10.00 was not included in the $200.00.

This proposal was voted on and passed, 6-0.

Thank You, Rick Bernard, for your web-site proposal and for your never ending work. Job well done!

Last year as President, I spent many nights during the winter putting together an itinerary of what could be good for all members. I completed my plan in March of 2009, in what I call, “The Triggs Budget Plan”.

On April 13th, 2009, I presented my plan to the Board of Governors and it was approved 100%. I not only reached my goals, I far exceeded my expectations. My beliefs of what could be done for my fellow members came true.

In some ways in these tough and economic times, I brought back the “good ole days”. For example, on four different occasions in major tournaments, you paid only $8.00 for a golf cart. On two occasions in major tournaments, you paid only $5.00 for a golf cart. And on one occasion, you got a golf cart absolutely free.

The same thing applied to food in 2009 Major tournaments. On four occasions you paid $7.00. On two occasions you paid $5.00. And on one occasion it was absolutely free. In addition, a free Christmas Party, which featured a wonderful dinner, put out by Yogi and his great staff at “Sandbaggers”.

So if you participated in all of the above, the club picked up your tab for the tune of $172.00 per man. Now, tell me what club can you join for $250.00 that gives back to you for participating? You tell me!

Gentlemen, last season we had a total of 173 paying members. That’s not good. In the last 5 years membership dropped from 229 to the present 173. We cannot continue this downslide. If this trend continues in the next few years it will mean less members and less participation, which means less benefits and let’s face it, higher dues. And that my fellow members, is not my makeup. We must boost our membership and we must have more participation.

So come on guys, let’s make a push to sign someone, a neighbor, friend, or relative. The future is here and the opportunity is now.

Just think if you can sponsor 4 new members, you will receive $100.00 back. If half the membership can bring in one new member, we can bring our total membership to 259 members. And men, that would be Golden!

If we can do for you what we did at 173 members, it would be unlimited as to what we could have. So guys, look around you. There is no better deal in the State of Rhode Island or for that matter, all of New England. We have a diamond in the rough in this great Donald Ross designed golf course.

When word gets out, and it will get out, by word of mouth, mail, internet, or advertising in local papers of what you can get back for your $250.00, mark my words, the place to be in 2010 is Triggs!

Annual Spring Meeting

Our annual Spring Meeting for all members will be at “Sandbaggers” on March 25th. The meeting starts at 6:30pm. Please be there and show your support. It will be very informative.

More Good News!

If you were a Triggs paying member in 2009, your dues this year will be $225.00. That’s a reduction of $25.00. This is a one time deal only! I want to make this perfectly clear – if any member was out on a leave of absence, or anyone who was out and coming back, your dues will be $250.00. Again, this is only for paying members in 2009 that will receive this benefit.

Dues

Dues can be paid at the March 25th Spring Meeting. Or you can send a check payable to “Triggs Mens Inner Club to:

Well men, I don’t have to tell you about our committees. When you get your program schedule at our Spring Meeting, just look at the names working for you. I say we have the finest in Rhode Island.

I want to thank Yogi at “Sandbaggers” for working along with me on this upcoming season. Also thanks to Karl Augenstein for giving us more schedule dates and for all his co-operation.

I look forward to this upcoming season with all of you.

Your fellow member,

Gino DiCarlo, President
